Eagles offseason begins in disappointing fashion.

For quite some time now, I've been contemplating starting my own blog where I could talk about my beloved Philadelphia Eagles football team. Well today is a bittersweet occasion, in the sense that while I've finally gotten around to creating the blog, my first post is to report how disappointed I am at how the 2007 season turned out.

The Eagles finished a thoroughly mediocre 8-8, and needed to rally the last 3 games of the season to get there. I have to admit, I coming out of training camp I thought the Eagles -- having finished 10-6 last season, would be contenders for the NFC. At least for the division and at worst a wild card. As it turned out, while the Eagles weren't mathematically eliminated until right before their 15th game vs. the New Orleans Saints, in reality we knew they were a long shot -- at best -- to make the playoffs given the hole they had dug for themselves in terms of conference tie-breakers.
